William Aston Hall

image

Wrexham's largest theatre and concert venue

We have a real gem at the heart of our conference facilities – a fully operating tiered theatre with full stage facilities that can seat up to 880 in the hall and on the balcony. This hugely versatile space can be split to provide a smaller theatre for just under 500 and be adapted for standing concerts and exhibitions.

The William Aston Hall is the perfect venue for larger-scale events from concerts and orchestral performances to awards ceremonies and product launches – and anything else in between. Its close proximity to the majority of the University’s teaching rooms makes it an excellent choice for conferences, with plenty of break-out rooms of all sizes. The large stage has state-of-the-art sound and lighting which can also be used during conferences for plenary sessions as well as the opening and closing of ceremonies.

The hall is located in the main University building and is fully accessible with lift access to the main auditorium and balcony, and dedicated wheelchair spaces. The large reception area outside the hall is the perfect space for delegate welcome and registration, and is an ideal location for exhibitions and displays to run alongside events. By day the adjacent Fellows Café Bar provides a great area for networking over a coffee, and by night becomes a fully-functioning bar, meaning there will always be plenty of refreshments to round off any social occasion.

The William Aston Hall is the largest theatre and concert venue in Wrexham. It regularly plays host to the great names in comedy such as Kevin Bridges, Alan Davies and Jimmy Carr, as well as ballets, shows, and bands like Feeder and the Levellers.

Visit our dedicated events site for more information about upcoming events at the hall.

What's in a name?

The venue is named after William Aston CBE (1869-1962), a renowned businessman and local politician who played a key role in the development of Wrexham as a town and as a centre of learning.
